1. What TaxTrim is

TaxTrim is an informational tool that compares your NYC Department of Finance property assessment against comparable sales from NYC Open Data and assembles an appeal packet. TaxTrim is not legal advice, tax advice, or a law firm. Nothing on this site creates an attorney–client relationship.

2. No guaranteed outcomes

We do not guarantee assessment reductions, tax savings, or appeal success. Verdicts are estimates computed from public data; the NYC Tax Commission decides every appeal on its own merits. You file your own appeal — the packet prepares the paperwork, it doesn't file it for you.

3. Your responsibilities

Verify every figure in your packet against your own Notice of Property Value before filing. File before the Tax Commission deadline (your packet states that year's deadline — deadlines move yearly). You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit to the City.

4. Purchases

The Appeal Packet ($39, one-time) and Assessment Watch ($49/year) are digital products delivered to your email and your personal packet link. Prices are in USD, processed securely by Stripe. All sales are final — we do not offer refunds. If your packet fails to generate, use the retry on your success page or contact us and we'll make it right.

5. Acceptable use

The free check is rate-limited per IP to protect the city's public data feed. Don't scrape, resell, or automate bulk lookups. Packet links are personal to the buyer — don't share them publicly.

6. Data

Assessment, sales, and geographic data come from NYC Open Data (Department of Finance, Department of City Planning). We show the "data as of" vintage on every result. If a city feed is stale or down, the check degrades honestly — we block verdicts rather than compute them on bad data.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MehyarSoft LLC's liability for any claim related to TaxTrim is limited to the amount you paid us (if any). We're not liable for missed filing deadlines, denied appeals, or decisions you make based on our estimates.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above will change. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
